Who We Are

Second Story is a non-profit writing project serving kids, schools and community organizations in Indianapolis, Ind. Our programs include in-class writing instruction at local schools, as well as after-school tutoring, creative-writing workshops and other events. We receive support from generous grants from the Efroymson Family Fund and the Estridge Family Foundation, both CICF affiliates; State Farm, and from individual donations.

Our mission statement: Second Story is a nonprofit creative writing project for young writers in Greater Indianapolis. Through classroom exercises, after-school tutoring, and other special programs and events, Second Story helps kids 6 to 18 find joy in writing as they discover their voices, explore their world, and embrace a life of curiosity and self-expression.
