In the Community

We work hard to connect with neighbors across Indianapolis and collaborate with other community-based organizations that can use our help including youth writing in their efforts. Our community-based programs include summer writing projects at the John H. Boner Center on the Near Eastside in collaboration with Y-Press and at Garfield Park in conjunction with Indy Parks and Garfield Park Art Center.

Because we recognize the importance of using what is around us to inspire creativity, Second Story is dedicated to helping students take advantage of their communal spaces through initiatives like those on the Near Eastside and at Garfield Park. By encouraging students to see the value of their communities, we hope to help them foster a genuine care for these communities.
